FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP client software allows you to transfer files between your hard drive and a remote server. For instance, you could put your personal home page up on our Web server by transferring files from your hard drive to the Web server, or you can download programs from your favorite shareware site — fast.

WS_FTP Pro is a Windows-based file transfer client application that is used to transfer files between your local PC and a remote FTP server. With WS_FTP Pro, you can connect to any FTP server, browse through directories and files, and transfer files (upload or download) in either direction.

WS_FTP download & setup Instructions

Download:

ws_ftple.exe

Setup

Select: Install WS_FTP, click next
Most will use for home and personal use, click next
Accept terms, click next
Go with default directory, click OK

Clearwire Customers

Under the Advanced tab - check the "Passive transfers" option.

The General tab

Profile Name: ftp.spinn.net

Host Name/Address: ftp.spinn.net

Host type: Automatic detect

User ID: (your Spinn.Net username)

Password: (your Spinn.Net password)

Click the Save Pwd box

Click OK ( you will need to be connected to the internet now, WS_FTP should bring up your dialup window.

The left window is your local system (your pc) and the right window is the Remote system (Spinn.Net's server). The remote system should be at: /home/users/(first letter of your username)/(username)/ now double click the public_html directory.

Now find your files on your PC and transfer them over into the public_html directory. Notice in the middle of the WS/FTP client the arrows going <-left or right->, you can select your files and click the right-> to transfer them over to Spinn.Net. You can also just double-click the files on your PC and they will transfer over.
